Balmuri Trip (One Day Trip: 1st June 2019)

It was another weekend has come and we are tired of both work and extreme hot bangalore weather. But can't plan for a long trip because of the weather. We want to go for a place where we can cool down a bit. But I am not a resort person and there won't be any water in any of the waterfalls. Then we finally zeroed on the man made waterfall Balmuri falls near Mysore. We started an adhoc trip to visit some places near mysore.

We planned to start our trip by 7AM, but it rained very heavily previous night so woke-up bit late and we could hit the road by 8AM and the first destination is Srirangapattana temple. As soon as we are out of NICE ROAD on mysore extension the traffic started and it is as worse as bangalore city traffic almost till Wonderla. There is no much traffic after that we could accelerate from there. How can we cross Maddur without stopping and buying Maddur Wada. I recommend to buy from the people who will be selling them in steel containers in Maddur Bus stand and they will sell 4 wada's packet for 20Rs. Weather is super hot and we took a break for breakfast around 9:45AM near Mandya A2B. Had breakfast and continued with the photo shoot. Spend 30mins extra than plan as my kid is posing after long time. We started to Srirangapattana and reached the temple around 12:05PM and there is quite a rush in the temple. It took us an hour to complete our darshan and we were out at 1:00PM. We thought of visiting zoo and then changed the plan to visit chamundi hills as it is too hot and we can't walk in the zoo for long time.

We started for Chamundi hills and we were in the queue by 2:05PM. But unfortunately it is the temple closing time, so we got to come out of the temple and headed for lunch. (Temple will be closed from 2:00PM to 3:30PM). We have finished lunch had some ice creams to cool down. The weather is extremely hot and it is very humid even at the top of chamundi hills which is 3,300ft above sea level. We had lunch and headed into the queue at 3:25PM and the gates are open exactly at 3:30PM. We could finish the Darshan in 30 mins and we could start to our next destination Balmuri at 4PM

We have reached there at 5PM. While reaching to Balmuri falls google maps suggest a right that leads to very narrow road next to a government school. Don't take that turn, we have another beautiful road after that. This road is not bad except 200mts patch. The other road which I suggested might be 300mts ahead and there is a big arch that welcomes you to Balmuri falls. They will charge Rs.30 for parking. And the place is really nice. If we sit under the 6ft man made waterfall you can just feel a Jacuzzi and it was very relaxing after the hot and tiresome day drive. We have spent excellent time there and also witnessed one of the most beautiful sunset. The plan was to spend 30 mins here and spend some 15 mins at yedmuri falls and reach Brindavan Gardens at 5:45PM and catch the musical fountain. But thanks to super hot weather and the beautiful balmuri falls atmosphere and we were there till 6:30PM.

We have enjoyed a lot there and we quickly changed our wet clothes and hit back to Bangalore at 7:00PM, as we it's too late to cover the other places. Never the less we had a great trip and Balmuri falls was just worth the drive in the hot weather. We didn't even stop for dinner as we just munched the Maddur Wada's that we bought in the onward drive and we finally reached Home at 10:00PM. It was a total of 350Kms exactly. It was a good trip, though we were tired of the first half of the trip, Balmuri falls gives us the best and most pleasant climax and it was a good trip in the mid of the hot summer. So another trip concluded and back to work from tomorrow without any blues ;).

Tips: There is another falls called Yedmuri falls which is 1KM away from Balmuri Falls. You may plan that too. There will be less water compared to Balmuri though.
